Octacore Strings Are Unique. They are the only strings made with an octagonal core.
Conventional strings are wound with hexagonal cores and bite the wrap at only 6 points. Octacore Strings engage the wrap with 8 gentler points to secure the string along its entire length.

Tried a few sets of these strings in custom gauges; I wanted a middle ground between lights and mediums to lessen tension on my vintage instruments. I chose 12,16,24,34,44,54. I was pleasantly surprised at the bass string’s energy , right off the bat.
Very good sound and easy to play. A looser feel that straight mediums without losing power.
